Last Friday was the Final of the Marshall Cup, which was won by Riverside, it was also Sevenoaks & District presentation evening, where the smart six of St Georges (click here for a pic) picked up their Winner’s trophy for Division 3. The final tables and results can be found here.
On a lovely sunny Saturday 15th August, the Cyril Martin Cup & Plate took place. Some great games were had and it was a family affair in the Plate final, with Patricia beating Tony Ivil. In the main final it was the same pairing as the previous year, however Linda Fardell overcame the challenge of Ivan Connell this year, with a consistent performance that beat all comers. I would like to thank everyone who turned up and played in a very enjoyable tournament, hope it will be good next year as well, with me gaining back the trophy.
That Saturday also saw the triples of Peter Bampton, Steve Higgins & Keith Williams winning the Holmesdale trophy
beating a triple from Borough Green in the final, Well Done.
The Finals are on the 5th & 6th September and the list of play can be found here or at the club house. Please be prompt if you are playing and if you are not, come down and support. On the Sunday we will be having a bar-b-q at 1pm and after the single finals we will be presenting the trophies. We would like as many club members as possible down so we can produce a good photograph for our President Bill Jolley.
